Easy DIY Potholder: New Design
Step-by-Step Sewing Tutorial

You know how most potholders behave.
Too flat.
Too bulky.
They slip when you grab a hot lid.
And somehow your fingers still feel the heat.
I got tired of that… so I made something different.
Meet the wrap-style potholder
Not a square. Not a mitt. Not a tube.
This one wraps around the handle and stays in place while you lift.
It just… works.
Perfect for draining pots — hold the lid in place and pour safely without juggling a towel or bulky mitt.

Why this design is different
✔ The center opening fits right over lid handles
✔ Long shape gives you full coverage where you need it
✔ Quilted, but still flexible (not stiff and bulky)
✔ Works for pots, lids, pans—even larger cookware

Beginner sewer ..with alot of fabric….lol
Neither is an issue; Beginner – that is temporary. After the first project you will already be one step up. “A lot of fabric” – well, that I do not understand, sorry. In my mind there is no such thing!
